The role of an IT security expert revolves around the protection of information technology systems in the company. This includes computer networks, infrastructure and any area where IT is present, so it ranges from e-mails exchanged with customers or between internal employees, to the passage of information within the software with which orders and production are managed.
The CISO (Chief Information Security Officer) is responsible for coordinating security initiatives against corporate agendas and business objectives, ensuring that information assets and technologies are adequately protected. The main purpose is to protect the company's sensitive information, which includes customer data, internal know-how and all assets whose loss would coincide with non-negligible financial (and reputational) damage.
In addition to purely security-related tasks, the IT security manager is in charge of controlling the internal activities of each employee, managing access at the same time, so that everyone can use the different company platforms according to their needs and role.
In addition, this figure is in charge of disseminating a culture of awareness around the area of IT security to prevent the company from falling victim to an attack due to carelessness and insufficient staff training.
